Dalla sua nascita, avvenuta nel 2002, Rock Impressions è cresciuto in modo esponenziale e attualmente (siamo all’inizio del 2006) conta circa 1.500 recensioni, oltre 100 interviste e vari approfondimenti. Dietro tutto questo c’è un grande impegno e tanta passione e soprattutto c’è il sostegno con cui Voi navigatori ci state supportando, un sostegno che ci conforta e ci sprona a fare sempre meglio.

Però ci sono anche molti costi che dobbiamo sostenere e abbiamo pensato a come potevamo finanziare queste spese, che diventano sempre più onerose. Non mi sembra bello chiedere dei soldi ai gruppi (qualcuno lo fa) per veder pubblicata una recensione o un’intervista che li riguarda, per il problema dell’indipendenza, puoi forse parlare male di uno che ti paga? Allora abbiamo pensato che la forma più democratica potesse essere quella di chiedere, a chi se la sente, un piccolo contributo, una donazione libera fatta da chi ritiene che il nostro impegno meriti un piccolo riconoscimento. Basta anche poco, anche qualcosa di simbolico, non vi chiediamo un abbonamento o altro, se volete vederla in un’ottica diversa è un po’ come se voi andaste in edicola a comperare un giornale…

Basta poco a volte per mantenere in vita un piccolo sogno. In un mondo musicale, dove le produzioni discografiche si moltiplicano vertiginosamente ed è sempre più difficile capire cosa è veramente interessante e valido, noi vi offriamo con umiltà una guida critica, un cd costa caro e comprarne ad occhi chiusi può essere un pericolo, sia economico che morale. Noi non abbiamo assolutamente la pretesa di dire la verità, ma raccontiamo quello che ascoltiamo con un linguaggio semplice e diretto e se i vostri gusti combaciano con i nostri, allora tutto ciò diventa molto utile a entrambe.

Un piccolo contributo (ovviamente a piacere) può migliorare il nostro servizio, Rock Impressions può lavorare di più e meglio.

Sentitevi assolutamente liberi, se potete darci una mano ve ne saremo grati. Intanto continuate a leggerci e a mandarci le vostre mail con eventuali critiche e consigli.

From its beginnings in 2002, Rock Impressions has grown exponentially and to date (at the start of 2006), it has done about 1,500 reviews, over 100 interviews and various other articles. Behind all this, lies a great sense of commitment, loads of passion and, above all, the support that you "surfers" offer us - a support that encourages us and inspires us to become ever better at what we do.

There are, however, many costs that we sustain in our work and we have been thinking about how to finance these expenses, which just keep increasing. We don't feel right about asking money from groups whose albums we review or with whom we conduct interviews (though others do this) because we feel that this would undermine our independence (can you say something bad about someone who's paying you?). So we've decided that the most democratic way of bringing in some funds would be to ask those who feel that our dedication deserves a little recognition to give a small contribution, a free-will offering. Just a small gift would be a great help to us - we aren't asking you to take out a subscription or anything. To put it in a different perspective, it's almost as though you were going to the newstand to buy a magazine...

Sometimes it takes so little to keep a small dream alive. In a musical world, where the albums produced are multiplying at a rate that makes your head spin and it just keeps getting harder to understand what is really interesting and worth listening to, we humbly offer you a critical guide. CDs are expensive and buying them blindly can be dangerous, from both an economic and a moral standpoint. We certainly don't pretend to have the market on truth, but we talk about what we listen to in simple, direct language and if your tastes line up with ours, this can be very useful to all of us.

A small contribution (obviously, in whatever amount you wish) can better our service to you and enable Rock Impressions to accomplish more and do it better.
